4. Distance students may request books; however, they are responsible to return books to their lending library and pay return shipping ($4-5/book on average through USPS).

6. Patrons can request a renewal of their loan but this must be done by or before the due date written on the book strap by emailing [email protected]. Keep in mind that Tyndale does not approve renewal requests.

8. The library staff reserve the right to decline any request (you will be notified should this happen).
Interlibrary Loan allows you to request books, articles, and more from other libraries that would be otherwise unavailable because of distance. Tyndale Library encourages students to request books that are not in our collections in order to widen their research. Resources you request are sent to Tyndale Library for pick up.
Interlibrary Loan allows you to request book chapters for books that are not in local library collections. Requesting a chapter can be a great way to preview the book before deciding whether to request a physical copy. Additionally, if you only need a particular chapter for your research, requesting the chapter can speed up the timing for your ILL request.
Start Early: Requests take an average of two weeks to be filled. Knowing what your research needs will be early on will open up opportunities to make use of ILL resources.
Check Local Libraries First: Many resources are available through nearby libraries at University of Idaho or Washington State University as well as the Moscow and Pullman local libraries.
Search WorldCat: Check WorldCat to request the right information for your resource. Make sure to double check whether the information is for a digital or physical copy of the resource you are requesting. You can access WorldCat here: https://search.worldcat.org/
Check the Instructions: Read through the instructions on the left hand side of this page for clear guidelines regarding your ILL requests.
Keep in touch with Tyndale Library: Once you submit your request, Tyndale library will locate a loaning library and request the requested resource(s) from them. When your ILL arrives, you will receive an email notification. Please pick up your ILL promptly and check the length of your loan.
Some resources can be renewed by emailing [email protected] on or before the due date. However, renewals are not granted through Tyndale but through the loaning institution. Be aware that renewals may vary based on the loaning policies of the institution which owns your resource.
Get Assistance: If you have any questions or concerns regarding your research or obtaining sources, please ask library staff in person or through our email at [email protected].
